Before transmitting the DC power to the inverter, the SolarEdge S440 Power Optimizer, a device that attaches directly to your solar module, employs MPPT technology to optimize it. A microinverter and the power optimizer are extremely similar. The DC electricity is not actually converted to AC power by the power optimizers. Similar to a microinverter, the optimizers let you view system performance and diagnostics at the module level, but they survive far longer because of the sort of electronics they utilize.
